Recently, we decided to do something… weird.

As a joke, we made a blog that is a parody of 18-15n-77-30w. We called this blog 40° 37’ N, -73° 56’ W. It’s a shameless rip off of 18° 15’ N, 77° 30’ W (We’ll call this Blog “Jamaica”), right down to the theme. We would be reposting images from their site, but like We Respect Dark Women (WRDW), we won’t be tagging the images with a link back to the blog.

This action seems to be… odd. Why would we willingly maintain two Black Female Blogs? Well, at first, to spoof Jamaica’s blog and change their wording around. However, we also wanted to do something else with this blog…

There are times when we look at pictures and think the images are “too well polished” for WRDW. Not that we don’t want professional models on our WRDW, it’s just that we want to post up regular, non-celeb pictures on that particular blog. Candid, non-professional, less photoshopped pictures was really the goal of that one. But then we wondered… well, since we’re going to spoof a blog, we can make it into a place where the pictures we rejected from WRDW can go on. Basically, 40-37 is the blog where will won’t post as often.

Just to make it clear…

WRDW will feature candid, non-celeb shots with little to no professional pictures while 40-37 will featured the celebrities, the polished, professional shots.

WRDW will also be an “all-ages” blog, which means that if the pictures are G/PG (no nudity, safe for work), those pictures will go there. If they featured semi-nudity or nudity, they will go over to 40-37.

But don’t get it twisted… we will purposely make mistakes and slip some of the “non-celeb” shots within 40-37.

All in all, we’re just having fun with 40-37 while WRDW will be the stronger blog of the two. WRDW will be updated more (7-10 or more posts a day) while 40-37 will be updated less (no more than 5 posts a day that will be queued).

In an effort to not give us away, we decided to make a group blog. However, it’s not practical for us to follow. Eventually, we would make a mistake and people might want to expose the real author. Since we want to be anonymous and yet, interact with you, we decided to separate the group blog and transfer it to a new account. So, if we’re following you, know that it’s the author of the following blogs:
